plant anatomy - meristematic cells , permanent cells, parenchyma, xylem, phloem

Plant Anatomy
This includes – 1) definition 2) Tissue 3) Meristematic tissue 4) permanent tissue.
Plant Anatomy – It is the study which deals with internal structure of plant part or plant body.
Tissue – Group of cells have same origin and may have same function
There are mainly two types of tissue which are –
I)Meristematic Tissue
II)Permanent tissue
I) Meristematic tissue – The tissue which are continuously divide and re- divide .
They are subdivided due to following categories
·         Time of formation
1. primary meristem
2.Secondary meristem
·         Their position
1.Apical meristem – present on apices, apical bud
2.Lateral meristem- present on lateral side
3. Intercalary meristem – present between permanent tissue.
II) Permanent tissue-  The tissue which do not divide and fix, divide only when necessary, only parenchyma cells divides.
They are furtherly classified into following categories
1.Simple – only one type of cells present . Simple tissue furtherly sub divided into a.epidermal and b. ground tissue.
a) Epidermal tissue – present on upper side .
b)Ground tissue – present in between vascular tissue and epidermis may present  in cortex region.
They furtherly classified into 3 sub- categories
i)Parenchyma
ii)collenchyma
iii)sclerenchyma
2.complex- more than one type of cells present. Complex tissue furtherly divided into a) xylem  and b) phloem
a) xylem – meant for conduction of water.
b) Phloem- meant for conduction of food.
